Bob's Bio

Bob's vast experience started as a child performing in small town talent shows. His talents have taken him to Europe, as a University choral student, Latin America as an Army Bandsman and across the USA literally from coast to coast playing destination resort restaurants, lounges, corporate, and private events.

Bob made his singing "debut"at age three while performing as special banquet entertainment in his home village of Almena WI. About that time he started teaching himself to play simple tunes on the piano. After several years of piano lessons starting in 2nd grade, he discovered how to play the bass pedals on his church’s pipe organ and was soon playing regularly for church services and local private parties and radio shows. His first steady, weekly hotel lounge engagement started at age 15 ending upon his graduation from High School.

He received a scholarship for all private voice, piano and composition lessons from University of WI-Eau Claire where he graduated with a major in Music Therapy. Upon completion of his clinical internship at Kalamazoo MI State Hospital he fulfilled his two year military obligation touring with the 79th Army Band based at Fort Amador in the Panama Canal Zone.

After working as a Registered Music Therapist in an adult psychiatric setting he returned to his love for entertaining and travel, working resorts of Florida’s Gold Coast, the Midwest, Colorado Rockies, Pacific Northwest, and Southern CA. Most recently, he played the North Lake Tahoe area of Olympic Valley CA, and Nevada’s Crystal Bay, Reno and Genoa. During this time he also performed original songs as guest musician for churches in Squaw Valley, Tahoe City, and Carson City NV.

Bob's experience includes corporate sponsored customized health and wellness enrichment presentations on the value of music and humor in everyday living. For these, he enjoys combining his education and work experience as a Registered Music Therapist with his extensive musical talents and audience- engaging entertainment presentation skills.

He currently resides in Torrance CA while further developing and extending his creative abilities for use in special custom presentations for entertainment, health and wellness, and education.

What People Are Saying!

"Piano Man Bob and Happy Hour"
"...keys extraordinaire Piano Man Bob was rocking, jazzing, boogie woogieing and generally entertaining anyone who would listen. Blending the classic sound of a grand piano with various electronic looping and synthesizing machines, Bob can create a variety of sounds like multiple singers, drum backbeats, bass riffs and other cool effects. In addition, Bob takes requests and can pretty much do anything you can think up.

"Engaging Entertainer "
"At the lake, Bob Duquesne is the pianist to catch. The engaging entertainer gets the audience involved because he loves requests and singalongs.

His very diverse repertoire includes show tunes, jazz,latin,classical,50s, soft rock, blues and much more.

Duquesne has performed up and down the California coast at prestigious establishments such as Chasen's in West Hollywood and the La Costa Resort."

"Outstanding Entertainer "
It is not often that I have the opportunity nor the confidence to recommend who I consider to be an outstanding entertainer.

After auditioning Bob Duquesne, I had no hesitation on signing a three-month contract with him; and, if we were not such a seasonal resort, I would be delighted to have him on a yearly basis. In addition to his musical talents, I most appreciate his professional attitude in his dealings with me and the fact that he is one hundred percent dedicated to doing the best possible job for the house.
Even though Bob Duquesne works as a single, his musical presentation is so designed that the full and extensive sounds that he produces could certainly be equivalent to a duo or trio.

Just a note to thank you for your share in making our stay at the Grand
Geneva
one of our more wonderful trips.
Although we came for The Young & Restless Homecoming, we certainly did not expect to find a pianist of any kind, let alone one of your caliber. As I told you, you are terrific, in New York or out...

Hope you have a wonderful spring. I'll be in touch.

Sincerely,

Alexandra Yu
